so i was thinking you might want a designer’s explanation of be{tween}.  the collection is here finally after a long road and we are more than pleased with every single portion….

between makes so much sense if we are having a chat about each piece of the collection.  anytime something is new there are expectations and then are realizations…..these are a little of both…..my notes to you….to help acquaint you with a line that i feel has the potential to make dressing your be{tween} a little easier!!  we hope anyway…..so here goes….

in general:

the cotton is the same as the BBTN cotton that everyone is used to….the white cotton that we love but this time i have designed prints that i think each little girl will love and a great compromise for moms.  I interviewed girls who are wearing these sizes…..showed them items that are available in the market today and inventoried their opinions using a system of “i would wear this every day, sometimes, or never”…… then they picked colors that they loved (that was tweaked though by me…..oh the colors they picked).  be{tween} came from the most precious opinions of the cutest girls on the block…..trendy, conservative, Jesus-loving families, and super fun girls.

so my expectations have been exceeded by the quality and craftsmanship.  my designs have come to life and i would like to introduce you to each one…..not just what they are but maybe even how they fit….i am in love (in a not weird or prideful way) with how they turned out….i pray that you take it that way….

Happy Hoodie:

summary:  happy hoodie fits true to size but you can order up for longevity.  she fits “off the shoulder” to be a little different from the rest.  happy hoodie fits well and is girly yet not too overindulgent for those who are just not that girly.  sizes 7-14, the 7 really can be worn by someone even just going into size 6.

matches: all pieces

coming for fall:  long sleeve tees to go underneath and match

the point:  it is forgiving in sizing, order true or up one size, you can add this to anything to make the outfit much cuter…

Do the dress:

summary:  our new dress has a sweet angel sleeve but we won’t tell the girls that- they like it as long as you don’t call it a “sweet little sleeve”  – the dress is perfectly suited for all shapes and really size-forgiving as the armhole is the only reason why you would not want to go up in size….. it fits a size 6 well, so maybe go up one size.  precious gray details (puffy pockets even….raw edges). this dress is meant to hit at the knee or around there……it is HOT in the summer and unless it is intended to be a maxi- short is best- that way they can play….plus you can always add the leggins’ underneath…..

matches: lovem’ leggins, happy hoodie

coming for fall:  a long sleeve tee and a full length legging to put underneath….also a cardigan to go over

the point:  it’s versatile, your child will love it, order up a size, yes! this means that your 6YO can wear this dress…maybe younger

Thanks Tank:

summary:  i named it thanks tank because it is so incredibly hard to find a good white shirt – we all know this- for children.  especially ones that cover what they should.  i think we have conquered the problem.  this tee is thick and nicely made and goes with not just our clothes. fits true to size for sure….it does fit well in length but again it is extremely forgiving because the armhole is the only consideration really.

matches: all bottom pieces- skoot @ skirt, giddy gaucho, lovem’ leggin, rockin’ ruffles

the point: you need a basic piece to go with everything…we think you will say thanks!

take the tank:

summary: the gray one in the middle…it just is essential for the same reasons the one on the top is…it matches most and really might be essential as well (who are we kidding here, i am writing the post, not a third party….you need all 9 pieces right?)

coming for fall: a few ways to layer the top and be able to wear it well into the fall, a cardigan?  a trench?  hmmm wait and see

matches:  all of the bottoms- lovem’ leggins (really not by themselves though- really), giddy gaucho, skoot @ skirt, and rockin’ ruffles- oh and the hoodie….and pretty much anything you can find in your child’s closet

the point: take the tank

Skoot @ Skirt:

summary:  shown here with the take the tank & happy hoodie….look how cute….paired with toms or flip flops for the summer, perfect for comfortable play or a birthday party, errands….ya ya…..skoot @ in the skirt.  fits true to size but the 7 really could fit a 6/6x.

it matches:  both tanks (take the tank & thanks tank), lovem’ leggins…with the happy hoodie

the point: this skirt fits well and what girl is difficult when you ask them to wear a skirt…..(if they are just get them the gaucho)

Play in Paisley:

summary: the paisley top has a yummy tangerine, two shades of gray and a little tiny bit of aqua just for fun…..it is assymmetrical so it covers that little hiney therefore it can be worn with leggins or over whatever…jeans…. it fits well and is just plain yummy with the shell button closure and the elastic underarm- super forgiving in fit meaning you will own this garment for a long time and enjoy it all the while. order true to size but if you decide to order up it should be fine because it fits well through the armhole.

fall:  hmmmm- we can’t tell you all of our secrets, but yes we will offer some options to use this top into the fall, well

matches:  giddy gaucho, lovem’ leggin’, rockin’ ruffle….the hoodie looks cute too

the point: this top is a perfect trial piece to see if your daughter likes between and will wear it…. which they will because it is so super soft

Giddy Gaucho:

summary:  this might be our most favorite pant…the gaucho rolls down at the waist almost like a maternity band….the pockets are amazing and you just plain have to put your eyes on them…in this picture this is a size 8 on a model that should be wearing about a 12- in short, she is tall for this pair- they hit alot longer in the correct size…precious, trust me….your child will love them.  temped to throw in a huge guarantee

matches:  play in paisley top, take the tank, thanks tank, happy hoodie

for fall: these will have a long-sleeve tee to match

the point: trust me …. cute or you can call my cell and tell me they are not – wink

Rockin’ Ruffles:

summary:  cute right?  a thick waistband that will make you swoon either over the stability and quality or the happiness that it will cause your daughter.  oh the print….. the response to these has been amazing.  order true to size

for fall: we will give you a longsleeve tee to match, a cardigan and hmmmm maybe some other surprises

matches:  happy hoodie, both tanks, play in paisley top-

the point:  this is a precious pair of pants that your daughter will love…..swoon

i am so incredibly excited to write this post….it might just be my favorite already and it is has only been prayed over and mulled over…

i really impressed a ridiculous deadline on my sweet friend to make it happen….(sorry)

i have introduced her before here but i want you to meet my bestie.    the purpose of the post specifically is to celebrate moms….

in conjunction with another fabulous friend who incidentally is a great friend because she is most definately allowed to call my house before 8 a.m.

see….there are different grades of friends….

if you are a very special/incredible/favorite friend then you can call really early & i will keep your kids, feed them & drive them around…..and you may raid my pantry …this goes with my theory that good friends know what is in your pantry.

if you are the kind of friend i am about to tell you about then you most definitely raid the pantry and you might as well be a sibling

Meet Bebek….aka Rebekah McNeil Grant

so….in case you are just simply not following…..

Celebrate Moms could  be about alot of women in my life….i have been blessed most certainly by great friends and mentors….. but

i have been asked to share a woman who has inspired me to be a better mom….and why…..

so here goes…..but a little history first…

Rebekah and I have a long history of a friendship…..i had to earn her friendship when we were young by being persistent and i know she will tell you – girls at the age we met could be unreliable, caddy, self-centered, disloyal, and just down-right mean.  so she was right to give me a trial….at one point her mother just asked me to be patient with her….she was so wise even then to pick her friends wisely.

We slowly became better than friends…..God has woven our lives together in such a way that we absolutely have needed one another for more than just a movie or dinner.  We have had those fun times but God had a plan for our friendship that required a basis to be built beforehand…..we needed to trust each other.   The circumstances are not important but God knows each one…

I have watched my friend make choices in her life that only an incredibly unselfish person could make….this is the understatement of my entire lifetime.

I have watched my friend dig deep into God’s word and hold fast to His promises…not twist his word to what she wanted but she knows God for who he is….she is sensitive to the Holy Spirit…

I have watched my friend become a mother to her children…all of them

She is beautiful, radiant, and super fun….OH AND CLASSY!

i have been in the delivery room to capture her youngest child and cried with her parents at the sheer joy of being a part of it all

Rebekah and i are very different in our dispositions but we do not conflict….

she is TOUGH….girls….she runs marathons yet she is accepting of me…..i am the one with the 0.0 sticker on the back of my van….(she gave me the sticker)

Rebekah is well-spoken….slow to speak, deep, loyal, grounded, incredibly kind and super level-headed and so much more

She manages her house, children, and husband with ease…..and so much more

She is a mentor to families who need her wisdom

She is mom to a cancer survivor….Sam

We have wept together over what God has chosen for our stories…..we know each other’s testimonies when very few do and have absolutely been there throughout every part

I admire Rebekah for her outlook, depth, incredible amount of wisdom, her insight, and most of all how she clings to God’s truths- all of them…

I admire her more than she will every know in our exchanges….

I asked her several years ago to be my children’s guardian along with her husband…. should anything ever happen….

I admire her strengths, her strength, and her….

we worked closely together to bring a tween version of her likes and mine to be{tween}… make no mistake she is the brilliant mind behind…..she is creative yet she knows how to make each piece…she strings them all…the quality is nothing short of the best and each piece will be made for you by her.

we are enjoying the early spring here….and enjoying so many business fun things….be{tween} is launching soon (April 10th), Blessed Be the Name is shipping at approximately 4 weeks (we promise 8-10 weeks), and favorite laundry has tons of new gifts in which is making Easter baskets super fun!!!

last weekend was a super anticipated event…state gymnastics!!  yipeee…..

my little was ready to be sure- she worked incredibly hard and was excited…….truth be told, she loves the competition part & the hair glitter.  small things….

she was proud of her accomplishments yet she learned alot that day as well….she grew up even a little…my heart sings….

what a blessing to get to watch her…..

everyone is home and healthy at our house…

recuperated just in time for spring break… just in time to be off school!!  yay!!
